Bulkhead & Deck Details

The bulkheads are the walls and the decks are the floors or ceilings of the vessel. Both bulkheads and decks are made of either steel or aluminium.

To secure the construction these structures have been divided in to fire classes.
A0 – A15 – A30 – A60: The fire class tells how long time the structure must withstand a fire.
A60 must withstand 60 minutes without a temperature rice on the other side of the construction of more then 140 degrees.
To ensure this Rockwool have had IMO approved fire institutes testing the Rockwool material. When a product have passed the fire test then Rockwool then need to contact all the different classification companies to get their approved certificates. The classification certificates is a law requirement for all vessels.
